Thermal Fogging

What is Thermal Fogging?

Thermal fogging is a process that uses heat to vaporize a fogging solution and create a dense cloud for various applications, including smoke odor removal, pest control, and disinfection. It generates fine particles (around 20 microns or less) and will stay suspended in the air for a long period of time. Because these droplets are hot, they are able to enter materials in a fashion similar to the way smoke particles do.   Because the chemical being fogged is hot, it will also penetrate deep into materials and surfaces to effectively treat odors, pests, or disinfectants.

WHY Thermal Fog

Odor Removal

Thermal foggers can be effective at neutralizing odors, especially after a fire or from sources like tobacco, pet urine, or mold.  Termal Foggers can also be used after an Ozone Treatment to give a pleasent smell to the residence

Disinfection & Sanitization

The fog produced by thermal foggers can penetrate surfaces and hard-to-reach areas, making them useful for disinfecting and sanitizing large spaces like warehouses, hospitals, or office buildings.

Prior to the Treatment

How to prepare for your Thermal Fog Treatment

  • All residents and pets should have been evacuate.
  • Shut off all open flames, including all pilot lights.
  • Disable smoke detectors.
  • Cover or remove food items
  • Open cabinet and vanity drawers and doors.
  • Close all exterior doors and windows

NOTE:

EPS will notify the local fire department that fogging will be taking place. Please inform neighbors that you are having a thermal fogging treatment as neighbors may think a fire has started if they see “smoke” inside the building.

After the Treatment

What to expect after you recieve a Thermal Fog Treatment

The building should remain closed up for 30 to 60 minutes to allow the fog to penetrate materials. Before re-entering, the building should be ventilated for at least 30 minutes. Anyone who has a respiratory problem or disorder should probably wait longer
